Small-Engine Basics Practice

Understand lawn equipment, generators, fuel, ignition and routine maintenance. 20 original APG questions, short lessons and answer explanations.

Start with a short lesson

Identify the engine

Use the engine model and equipment manual to select fuel, oil, filters and spark plugs. Two-stroke and four-stroke lubrication arrangements can differ.

Prevent accidental starting

Stop the engine, let hot parts cool and isolate ignition and other energy sources as the manual directs before service. Operate combustion engines outdoors.
